• Open Government Partnership and Afghanistan’s membership The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a voluntary, multi-stakeholder international initiative that seeks to secure concrete commitments from governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
• The third National Action Plan October 2015 and includes more than 40 new or expanded initiatives to advance the President's commitment to an open and citizen-centered government. The implementation period for that plan is through June 2017.

Open Government Partnership Sponsored by the United Nations, the is a multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance. Launched in September 2011 with the participation of 8 countries, it had 65 members by September 2014. As a charter member of the OGP, the United States is committed to work with civil society and other countries to achieve the goals of the OGP. Under a series of National Action Plans, the Obama Administration has undertaken a number of initiatives to make the government transparent, participative, collaborative and accountable to its citizens. GSA has led many of the U.S. Government's open government efforts, by developing and expanding as the home of the U.S.
